We don't want the season to end, says Whitstable Town boss Peter Nott

WHITSTABLE TOWN boss Peter Nott says he wants to finish their league campaign on a high note, writes Stephen McCartney. The Oystermen ended Ramsgate’s slender play-off hopes with a 1-0 win at Southwood Stadium on Easter Monday and Nott wants to beat Corinthian-Casuals at home on Saturday to end their campaign with five straight wins.
”As a side we have a lot of belief now there is toughness,” Nott told www.whitstabletownfc.co.uk.
”You could see there was resilience about us again, which has shown in the results these last few weeks.
”Let’s not forget they (Ramsgate) had plenty to play for. Jim Ward always wants to win games and they could have moved into the play-off’s
”But instead we have turned in another performance that going back to December would have put us in the play-off’s – that’s how much we have improved as a side.”
Whitstable Town must do a Kent rival a favour on Saturday if they are to keep Chatham Town in the Ryman League.
Chatham must beat league leaders Bognor Reigs Town (who must clinch three points to win the title) at Maidstone Road – and hope Corinthian-Casuals lose at Whitstable - if they are to avoid finishing in the bottom two.
”We are on a roll. I have just been told that the (last time we went) four games unbeaten was the end of last season,” added Nott.
”Whitstable Town seem to get a run together late in the season, so we have plenty to play for. We want to achieve the highest league position we can and make it five wins on the trot, which was possibly when the club were in the Kent League.
”There is a good foundation for the club and one to build on. We have some good players at the club, players who are improving with each match. I can tell you now they will not want this season to end.”
