We go to Lordswood in good spirits despite first loss in eleven games - Luchford

Friday 12th March 2010
FAVERSHAM TOWN may be chasing a unique treble - but manager Justin Luchford is taking one game at a time starting with tomorrow’s tricky trip to Lordswood, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Lilywhites booked their place in the Kent Senior Trophy last weekend by seeing off Deal Town, but  suffered their first defeat in 11 when they were beaten 3-1 at Herne Bay in the first-leg of the Kent League Cup semi-final last Wednesday night.

Luchford’s side are 10 points clear of Herne Bay (who do have three games in hand)  and they travel to basement side Lordswood tomorrow.

“We do everything our way and we turn up and do our jobs,” Luchford told www.kentishfootball.co.uk.

“We’ll be a match for any team and Lordswood are exactly the same on Saturday afternoon.

“They’re doing well, they’ll always be decent under Jason Lillis.  He’s a decent manager and he gets them playing good football and working hard for each other and that will be no different.

“But we’ll go there in good spirits. We’ve lost one game in the last eleven.  What am I worried about?”

Lordswood have claimed just one win (a convincing home win over Sporting Bengal) and eight draws from their 20 league outings and are only two points adrift of Fisher and will be aiming to finish their campaign off the foot of the table and have 30 points to play for to achieve that feat.
