We'll do ourselves justice, says Sevenoaks boss Jones

SEVENOAKS TOWN boss Simon Jones says his side will cause more upsets during the last few weeks of the Kent League season, writes Stephen McCartney.

League leaders Hythe Town were humbled at Greatness Park in midweek and Jones takes his side to Faversham Town on Saturday, before entertaining second placed outfit Holmesdale seven days later - before welcoming the Lilywhites on the 28th March.

“Faversham will be interesting,” said Jones, when speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk following his side’s impressive 3-2 home win over Hythe Town.

“Personally, I’ve never played Faversham so that will be an interesting experience.

“I think it’s one of those horrible ones where you get a bit familiar, it’s a difficult situation. They’re still pushing hard to move up the table as well.

“We’re looking to rebuild and put on some good performances together so I’m sure it will be an enjoyable game.

“If we can play as well as we did tonight (against Hythe), we’ve got half a chance.”

Looking even further ahead, Jones is relishing the local derby against Holmesdale.

Despite three of their managerial team earlier in the season, they remain second in the Bulmers Cider Kent League table, just three points behind Hythe Town.

And Jones warns the Bromley side not to take lowly Sevenoaks lightly.

“As we’re not involved (in the title race), we’ll try and help everybody,” he said.

“Whoever plays us we’ll give them a proper game. There will be no easy games for people down here.

“If we keep playing like that then we’ll do ourselves justice if nothing else. We deserve to play the best we can for the other teams.”
