We'll have the strength to win Kent League title, vows Cosgrove

Erith & Belvedere joint managers Chris Cosgrove and Paul Gorman have set about building their squad for the forthcoming Kent League season.

Players were invited along to the Deres clubhouse on Tuesday evening to sign Kent League forms as Cosgrove and Gorman laid down their plans for their assault on the Kent League title.

“We feel that with a couple of new faces to join the majority of the squad that we want to keep from last season, we can go from strength to strength,” Cosgrove told www.erithandbelvederefc.co.uk.

"We have added a couple of new names to the squad and there will be more signings to follow soon.

“It’s natural that some players will move on and we won’t stand in their way. But we want players who want to play for us and take this football club up another level and progress their careers with us.

“The players know what we are trying to achieve here and most of them want to achieve those goals with us.”

Commenting on the new arrivals to Park View Road for this season, Cosgrove said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark Herbert (from Greenwich Borough), Marlon Button (Whitstable Town) and Dave Hassett (Tunbridge Wells) to the club and I know all three will be valuable additions to the squad.

“There are still some players we have our eye on, and we are confident that by the time the Kent League gets underway on August 11, we will have put together a squad of players that will be challenging for the title come next April.”

Cosgrove confirmed that Paul Gross, Mark Herbert, Nick Smith, Lee Morgan, Tom Maycock, Steve White, Barry Gibson, Marlon Button, Cain Anderson, Ricky Hardie, Michael Gonzague, Neil Murray and Dave Hassett have all signed for the Park View Road club on Kent League registration forms.
