Welling Town part company with entire management team after Darren Manning shown exit after 35 games in charge of the club
WELLING TOWN chairman Kevin Oakes has parted company with his entire management team by mutual consent this morning.
Darren Manning took charge of 35 games for Welling Town, sealing a fourteenth-place finish in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table.
“With regret we confirm that Darren Manning has left the club today by mutual consent,” said a club statement.
“A huge thank you must go to Darren for his time and commitment to the cause. No one could ever accuse him of working anything other than relentlessly in the pursuit of improvement and success and we’re very grateful for that.
“Our thanks also to his support staff of Joe Gadsdon, Kwabs Osei, Nathan Scarborough, Ryan Madder and Tom Polley for all their efforts in their time with us and of course to all of the players that represented them and the club during 2021-22. We wish you all the best for the future.”
Manning took charge of the club on 4 October, having managed Essex outfit Hullbridge Sports for four-years taking them from the Essex Senior League to the Isthmian League Division One North.
Manning took charge of Welling Town with the club deep in relegation trouble but steered them to midtable safety during his time at the club.
Manning won 13, drew five and lost 17 during his short time at the club, which has been managed by Richard Dimmock, Louis Dean, Danny Wakeling and Oakes during their eight-year nomadic existence.
