We have three tough games coming up before the Christmas break and I will be keeping all of the boys focused on these games, says Welling Town boss Richard Dimmock

WELLING TOWN manager Richard Dimmock says things are going well at the promotion chasing club.

The Boots are in second-place in the Andreas Carter Joma Kent County League Division Two West table, collecting seven wins and two draws from their nine games.

The Bayliss Avenue club are two points adrift of leaders Sydenham Sports, with a game in hand.

“We have had a great start to the season and we are unbeaten too, touch wood, at the moment and all the players have been doing what I have asked of them and I can’t fault them for that since the beginning of the season,” said Dimmock, who has enticed a number of players to drop from the Southern Counties East Football League to play for the club.

“We have brought in Dan Wells, Ricky Hardie and Fabrice Blenordah and Ryan Golding and they have all fitted in well to the way we want to play and with the rest of the squad.

“Things off the pitch are going well. The club are also doing well and we have set up a reserve side this season and we are also setting up under 16, under 18 and under 21 sides next season.  We are also trying to set-up youth sides as well.

“We are so busy trying to get the club as big as possible with all these teams and trying to bring the young kids through to the first team.”

The Boots travel to play Johnson & Phillips on Saturday, before hosting FC Elmstead Reserves (9 December) and finishing the calendar year with a trip to Dartford to play Fleetdown United Reserves (16 December).
