We massively under achieved last year, admits Milton & Fulston boss Aaron Perry

MILTON & FULSTON United manager Aaron Perry says he is searching for a director of football to help the club progress to the next level.

The Haart of Kent County League Division One East club have a budget in place to secure someone to assist Perry for the season ahead.

“Last season was my first at this level and I learnt a lot last season and so did my players,” said Perry.

“This season we will be ever more prepared as we massively under achieved last year.

“We are looking for a professional approach on and off the pitch and having a director of football to work with myself and my coaching staff with match analysis, scouting players and opponents, will all help us to progress to the next level.

“This is a paid role as we know how important this is to us as a club.”

Meanwhile, East Kent College Football Club have unveiled their first signings ahead of their inaugural season in the Kent County League.

The team will be managed by Luke Williams, Liam Morris and Tim Hunt, while Gary Beckett is the club’s director of football.

The club have been elected in to Division Two East.

Kieran Morris, Aaron Robinson, Ryan Harker, Elliot Payne and Oli Donohoe have all committed themselves to the club ahead to pre-season training, which starts on Tuesday.

Morris, Harker and Robinson have all previously played Ryman League football and will bring well needed experience to the first season for the club.

“All five signings are huge for the club,” said joint-manager Williams.

“If it wasn’t for our previous dealings with these lads and the future plans that we have for the club, all of them would be playing elsewhere.”

Joint-boss Liam Morris added: “These lads are good examples of what qualities are available to us in the local area.

“Tim (Hunt), Luke and I have always said that if we could get the right players’ together, it wouldn’t be long until we were competing competitively throughout the county.”

The club embark on an ambition of fielding college students as part of the club first team and with Kieran Morris and Harker both attending the college on carpentry courses in previous years it shows this is a feasible task.

Former Ramsgate defender Liam Morris added: “Gary Beckett set us a task of promoting students from the college into the first team and this was one of the main reasons why we took this challenge.”

Harker was considering his options in football after family commitments.

He said: “When Luke and Liam explained the future plans and ambitions of this football club, I couldn’t refuse.

“Promoting Thanet football is important and I think it starts here!”
