We must chop down some Wood, says Trott

Monday 26th November 2007

Margate player-manager Robin Trott has challenged his players to end their miserable run against Boreham Wood tomorrow.

Seventh plays eighth as Boreham Wood visit Hartsdown Park for a vital Ryman Premier League clash.

Last season’s 6-1 defeat at Meadow Park is still hurting Trott, and is looking to make amends.

“We need to beat Boreham Wood now,” he told www.margate-fc.com.  “That’s a team that we haven’t beaten, and we’ve got to beat them now.

“We’ve a stop-start season (so far) and we really do need to push on, because teams really are beating everyone and we just need a bit of consistency.

“It’s down to us. I know we’ve got a small squad. We’re trying to get a few players in , we’ve got a lot of injuries but we have to get on with it.”

Margate will be missing Jay Saunders, Charley Side and Justin Skinner through injury and midfielder Dean Standen, who serves the last of his three match ban.

And star-winger Jimmy Jackson could be a doubt following his accidental collision with Billericay goalkeeper Billy McMahon during Margate’s 1-0 win at the New Lodge at the weekend.
