We need solid foundations, says concerned Daish
Monday 01st February 2010
EBBSFLEET UNITED boss Liam Daish hopes the club's funding is not slashed further as the renewal date approaches for members of owners MyFootballClub.com.
The website had 30,000 members when it took over two years ago but it dwindled to 9,000 last year.
Daish had to practically start his squad from scratch as a result.
He told BBC Radio Kent: "We don't want to go through all that again, we have to get some contingency and consistency through the football club."
The renewal date is Friday, 19 February and Daish said: "We don't want to be building houses on no foundations.
"We've had a year now and I am sure the club learned from what happened last year."
Daish was forced to release all out-of-contract players at the end of last season. At one stage he only had two contracted players and player-coach Paul McCarthy, and had to rebuild the squad.
