We're confident that we can now go on a run, says Bromley boss Mark Goldberg

BROMLEY manager Mark Goldberg says his side must start concentrating on picking up points as they bid to climb up the league table following two high profile Cup ties, writes Stephen McCartney. The Hayes Lane outfit have faced two League One clubs during the past few days, going down 3-0 away to Leyton Orient in the FA Cup First Round last Saturday and being knocked out of the Kent Senior Cup Sponsored by Portablefloodlights.com following a
3-2 home defeat by Charlton Athletic last night.
Bromley showed impressive glimpses during the first half at Brisbane Road on Saturday and the second half against Charlton Athletic and Goldberg wants his side to take those two performances to Chelmsford City on Saturday.
Bromley’s players know the importance of picking up three points as they return to the bread and butter of the Blue Square Bet South football.
The Ravens lie in seventeenth place in the table with eighteen points from fifteen games and are now only five points clear of the relegation zone.
And next Tuesday’s home clash against Hampton & Richmond Borough is a must-win game, especially as the Beavers came away from Maidenhead United with a 2-0 win last night to move to within five points of the Kent club.
Goldberg, 48, said: “We’ve got to take these two spirited displays into the League on Saturday. It’s so important now we get points and we go on a run.
“We’re down there as well (with Hampton & Richmond Borough) so we have to pick ourselves up and we have to go on a proper run and I believe that we’ll take confidence from our last two games against Football League opposition and we’ve got to grind out points. That’s the only thing that’s important right now for our team, but the spirit’s there, the belief’s there.
“I think we are more confident following our FA Cup run and the Charlton Athletic game as well.”
