We're happy with the way things are going, says Holmesdale coach

HOLMESDALE coach Keith Najdowski says he is very happy with the way things are going to Oakley Road, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Dalers suffered their first home defeat in four when they were defeated by second-placed Herne Bay on Good Friday, but the Bromley based club put in a spirited shift during the 2-1 defeat.

They took a first half lead through Nathan Bell, before Herne Bay grabbed the points courtesy of Jamie Turner and Luke Harvey.

Holmesdale go into their last six games sitting in tenth place in the Bulmers Cider Kent League and ahead of their game against tenants Greenwich Borough on Easter Monday, Najdowski told www.kentishfootball.co.uk that the management team are pleased with progress.

“We’re happy with the way things are going at the moment,” he said.  “It’s a work in progress and we’re just going to continue what we’re doing.  The players are all on board with it.

“We’ve got a game against Greenwich on Monday so we’re looking to bounce back for that really.  Hopefully after that we’ll be back on track again.

“We played Greenwich a couple of weeks ago and we got a good result against them and we don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t get another good result if we work hard.

“But they’re a hard working side as well but all things being even we’re hoping that we’ll do quite well against them.”

Holmesdale then welcome champions-elect Faversham Town to Oakley Road on Saturday, and Najdowski knows his side will be in for an aerial battle.

“That will be a test!” he said.  “I think we can cope with everybody.  We’ve beaten teams that have been above us in the league.  Faversham will be just another test, which we’ll be up for.”
