We're searching for the right man for the job, says Fisher board

Friday 06th May 2011
FISHER director of finance Ben Westmancott says the search for the club’s new manager is well and truly underway.

The Champion Hill based club parted company with Gary Lisney after nearly two years in charge after finishing their second season at the foot of the Kent League table.

“We have a clear view of the type of manager we want and the criteria he needs to fulfill,” Mr Westmancott told www.fisherfc.co.uk.

“The selection panel will also be boosted by the presence of an independent and experienced individual from the non-league world to ensure we pick the best man for our club.

“Myself and fellow director Jude Bliss will move the process forward, speak to potential candidates and the applications have been flying in already over the last 48 hours.

”We will then draw up a shortlist from the applications received, with a view to taking two or three names back to the board for final interviews.”

Mr Bliss added, “We would of course like a speedy conclusion but we don’t want to be too hasty either as we need to ensure we get the right man and someone who can help us build and take this club forward over the next 2-3 years.

“We’ll have a good look at the applicants at the end of the week and hopefully set up a few interviews for the end of next. We’ll certainly have our man in place for the beginning of June and he’ll have plenty of time to meet with players, supporters and make preparations for pre-season.”

The club have providing the following criteria which should be used as a guide for applicants rather than as required attributes.

• UEFA ‘B’ License holder

• Experience of managing at non-league step 5 or above (or academy / reserve team at step 3 or above)

• CVs should be provided on application

•A basic understanding of the structure and values of Fisher FC as a supporters trust run club.

Deadline for applicants is Monday 9th May.  To apply, email jude@fisherfc.co.uk.
