Wes Foderingham is a top man and an excellent young professional, says Hayden Bird

BROMLEY assistant manager Hayden Bird says he wishes goalkeeper Wes Foderingham every success with his professional career at Crystal Palace, following his loan deal expired this week, writes Stephen McCartney.
The stopper signed for the Selhurst Park outfit during pre-season, but was loaned back out to the Blue Square Bet South club for a three month period, and during his time at Hayes Lane helped the side to the top of the table.
“I would like to publicly thank him for his commitment to Bromley FC both this season and last season,” Bird told www.bromleyfc.net.
“In addition to being an influential player, Wes is a popular member of the dressing room. There is no doubting he is an outstanding goalkeeper who has played a significant part in our success.”
Bird added: “Having arrived during a difficult period last year, it’s fitting Wes leaves us with a clean sheet at Braintree Town that helped Bromley go top of the league.
“On behalf of both the management and players, I would like to wish Wes every success with Crystal Palace and hope we have helped him in his career development.
“Having worked with Wes, we all regard him as a top man and an excellent young professional.”
Let’s hope Foderingham takes an interest in Crystal Palace’s fixtures, unlike Port Vale winger Sean Rigg.
In Port Vale’s match-day programme, his team-mate Tommy Fraser revealed Rigg thought Dartford had been elevated two divisions to League Two.
“I feel sorry for Sean Rigg,” said Vale’s number 10. “On the way down there (Dartford) on the coach I heard him say to John McCombe “How long have Dartford been in our league?”
“He didn’t know it was an FA Cup game! It just goes to show how clever some of our players are!
“Lewis Haldane said “They got promoted last year didn’t they?
“In the dressing room before we went out, Riggy said “Come on lads, let’s get the three points today!”
Dartford came within seven minutes of causing an upset, but had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Princes Park, but they were defeated 4-0 in the FA Cup First Round replay at Vale Park last night.
Meanwhile, Bromley’s FA Carlsberg Trophy Third Qualifying Round tie away to Ebbsfleet United has been switched to next Tuesday 23rd November, due to The Fleet’s televised FA Cup tie against AFC Wimbledon on Thursday night.
If a replay is required then it will take place at Hayes Lane on Tuesday 30th November.
