We should be mindful of Chatham's strengths - but we don't fear them, says Munday

WHITSTABLE TOWN boss Mark Munday says his side should not fear Chatham Town when the two Kent sides meet at Belmont Road tomorrow, writes Stephen McCartney.
Munday, who was speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk on the eve of their game against Alex O’Brien’s troops, wants his side to continue where they left off last week, defeating play-off chasing side Walton & Hersham.
“It was a fantastic win,” said Munday. “I think we deserved it, much deserved and it was a good start from picking up where we left off from Boxing Day and the game before at Godalming.
“We’ve had some good performances but they haven’t culminated in three points but last week was very good and we got what we richly deserved.”
Munday revealed that influential defender Sam Denly misses tomorrow’s game as he is away until Monday, and he is looking forward to bagging three vital points as they bid to climb away from the Ryman League Division One South drop zone.
The friendly club presently sit one place above the relegation zone, having picked up six wins and two draws from 22 league outings, whilst their Medway opponents sit higher up in tenth place with 33 points, having played a couple games more.
“Again, it will be another tough game, but another game which we shouldn’t have any fear with,” said Munday.
“Our last three league games have been against sides in the top six of this league and we’ve performed capably and we’ve competed with them and at times done very well against them.
“There’s no-one in this league which we should fear. We should be mindful off Chatham’s strengths and mindful that every team can beat anybody in this league so we’ve got to give them the respect they deserve.
“It’s more about what we can do and at the moment we’re doing ok. It will be another good game to win and another opportunity to get three points at home to gather as many points as possible.”
