We will move the club forward, vows new Whitstable boss Munday

NEWLY appointed Whitstable Town manager Mark Munday has promised some exciting new signings as he prepares for his first season in management, writes Stephen McCartney.

Munday and his assistant Paul Lamb were unveiled as the club's new management team last month, replacing Marc Seager, who quit the club to spend more time with his family, and Simon Halsey, who has taken up a similar role at neighbouring Bulmers Cider Kent League side Herne Bay.

"Paul and I have been very busy in these last couple of weeks and are most encouraged by the response we have had so far from some top quality players who want to play at the Belmont," Munday told www.whitstabletownfc.co.uk.

"I am sure there will be a few raised eyebrows at the start of the new season as we are attracting some very good players to add to the excellent squad we already have at the club."

Munday, with vast experience, having played for numerous Kent clubs added, "I expect to retain eighty percent of the squad from last year, it's common knowledge that one or two players will be moving on and they go with my blessing.

"I would say to the supporters that Paul and I will be working hard over the next few weeks to make sure we have the right players to move the club forward.

"It's not my style to go name dropping at this stage, but whoever they are, rest assured they will be the right type of players, playing attractive football for Whitstable Town."
