Whitehouse pens new Dover deal

Tuesday 12th May 2009
JOHN WHITEHOUSE has signed a new one-year contract with Dover Athletic, writes Justin Allen.

The popular former Chatham Town keeper was not put off by the club signing Lee Hook from Eastbourne Borough and is ready to fight for his place in the team.

And busy Dover Athletic boss Andy Hessenthaler, speaking to www.doverathletic.com today said: "Competition for places is important at any successful club - and we now have two top keepers.

"John has played a big part in our success and I'm delighted he is ready to compete with Lee for that No1 spot."

Chairman Jim Parmenter says that the club are hopefully a "few days away" from pulling off a transfer coup but there was "still some work to do" before the player can be confirmed as a Dover player.
