Whitstable Town begin search for experience after parting company with rookie boss Will Graham after six games

WHITSTABLE TOWN have confirmed the departure of manager Will Graham after only six games in charge of the club.

The club are rooted to the foot of the Ryman League Division One South table after losing their opening five league games.

Graham was appointed manager in the summer after he was promoted from his role as coach after Jim and Danny Ward quit the club to re-join Ramsgate.

Graham’s last game in charge was a 1-0 defeat away to Sittingbourne on Tuesday night.

The club issued the following statement saying, “It is with regret that the club confirms the departure of manager Will Graham.

“Graham who had been appointed in the close season endured a torrid start to the season, which sees them as the only Ryman League club currently pointless and having played five league fixtures and having been knocked out of the League Cup, firmly rooted to the foot of the table.

“Chairman Gary Johnson placed his thanks for Graham’s energy and passion on record, but now insists that an experienced Ryman or equivalent manager will now be sought.

“In the meantime assistant manager Simon Halsey and coach Ricardo de Vivo have been asked to lead the team for Saturday’s all important FA Cup encounter at The Belmont against Walton Casuals.”
