Whitstable party before they concentrate on their new chapter - EXCLUSIVE
Whitstable Town boss Marc Seager and his double winning squad are letting their hair down this weekend by jetting off to Magalouf - a popular destination for Ryman League footballers, writes Stephen McCartney.
Players from Maidstone United and Folkestone Invicta, both playing Ryman Premier League football next season, have already partied there and now it’s time for division one south sides Sittingbourne and Whitstable Town.
But once back in Kent, Seager will concentrate on preparing for the club’s first ever Ryman League campaign.
Seager revealed EXCLUSIVELY to www.kentishfootball.co.uk tonight, that all of his Kent League double winning squad will be given the chance to impress at the higher level.
“Everyone’s staying,” he said. “We’ve got a couple of irons in the fire, but won’t go public with them.
“We’re still celebrating, we’ll all off to Magalouf tonight for a long weekend and then we get back to the football when we get back - we return on Monday.
But the Rainham resident is relishing managing The Belmont boys at the higher level.
“I’ve let a couple of players know (that) I’m interested in them - we’ll take it up in a couple of weeks,” said Seager.
“We’ve only just finished this season, everyone’s having a well earned rest at the moment.”
Seager revealed his squad numbers for the new campaign, adding: “Hopefully (it) will be the same around this year - twenty - that’s what I’m looking for.
“We’re looking to have a good season and we’ll enjoy it - we’ve worked very hard to get there, it’s so exciting!”
“It’s a new chapter in the history of the club.”
