A new chapter for Whitstable Town as new chairman Steve Clayton turns club into a Limited Company

WHITSTABLE TOWN’S newly-appointed chairman Steve Clayton has turned the club into a limited company.

 

The club finished in 12^th place in the Bostik South East Division last season in Scott Porter’s final season in charge of the club.

The Oystermen go into next season with former Ramsgate boss Lloyd Blackman in charge of the club.

A club statement said: “A new chapter in the long history of Whitstable Town Football Club now begins following confirmation that the FA and the Bostik League have officially approved the transfer of membership from an unincorporated association or members club to a limited company.

“We are now known officially as Whitstable Town Football Club Limited, affiliated as Whitstable Town Football Club.

“To get this far has taken a lot of hard work over many hours, with the extensive list of documents and information required, so a big thank you to everyone who has helped with this over the last six months.

“The club now moves forward under a new chairman Steve Clayton, with other new officers also in place, alongside most of the previous committee.

“The Whitstable Town senior and junior football sections will now be run together for the benefit of the local football community, creating a pathway for young footballers of all ages.

“The successful Whitstable Town academy continues, with the reintroduction of a reserve team for the coming season, completing a structure that aims to provide the best possible support for the new first team manger Lloyd Blackman.

“There is still much work to be done, with a number of plans to develop the club, but the first steps are now complete.”

Whitstable Town open their pre-season campaign with an away game against Margate Sports on Tuesday 9 July 2019.
