Whitstable Town unveil major sponsorship deal
KENT Reliance Building Society (KRBS) have been unveiled as new shirt sponsors of Whitstable Town, confirming a two-year deal with the Ryman League Division One South club.
KRSB have launched a Whitstable Town FC savings account, in association with the football club and Estate Agent Neil Harrington and Andy Page, part of a group of businessmen who have come together to help raise the profile of the Belmont Road club, welcomed the move.
“We are delighted to get Kent Reliance on board. Their vice-chief executive Rob Proctor and I go back a long way," he said.
Andy Page and Neil Harrington, who have brought together a small band of local businessmen, were introduced to the football club by Wes Mclachlan, the club’s commercial manager.
“Together they have all added some new ideas and a fresh outlook to the club, like any organisation you get set in your ways and it’s only when people come along and say, ‘hey why don’t you try this or that’ and it makes you stop and think about things from a different perspective,” club chairman Tony Rouse told www.whitstabletownfc.co.uk.
“We, that is the committee of the club will continue to handle the day to day running of the club as far as activities on are concerned, the consortium who have very varied expertise in many different fields will if you like be ‘thinking outside the box’ at ways to promote the club.
“These are very exciting times for Whitstable Town, the KRBS venture is just the start and I know that Neil and Andy and the rest are working on new ideas which will transform the club over the next few years.
“My vice chairman Joe Brownett and club secretary Alan Gower and the rest of the committee have welcomed the new additions with open arms.
“We are forging stronger links with Whitstable Town Junior Club, and there are also plans in the pipeline to improve the facilities at The KRBS Belmont Ground and there are other events planned; the first of which is the fireworks display on Wednesday November the 5th at the ground."
