You've got to give credit to everyone behind the scenes for their efforts, says Luchford

FAVERSHAM TOWN boss Justin Luchford says he is considering making changes for the trip to Erith Town on Easter Monday, writes Stephen McCartney.
The Lilywhites suffered only their fourth league defeat of the season when third-placed Beckenham Town stunned the Bulmers Cider Kent League leaders by winning 2-1 at Salters Lane on Good Friday.
The game was played in energy zapping conditions, so Luchford, who was speaking to www.kentishfootball.co.uk, may make changes for their trip to eighth placed Erith Town.
“I might try to freshen things up a bit, but remember, we’re away from home, so it’s going to be tough,” said Luchford.
“Erith Town are a good side, their league position is a bit false. They got a point against Herne Bay the other night.
“Every game is tough in this league, you can’t take anything for granted, but we’ll go again Monday and hopefully everything will be alright.”
With Herne Bay grinding out a 2-1 win at Holmesdale a couple of hours after Faversham lost to Beckenham, the Lilywhites lead at the top of the table has been reduced to nine points with Herne Bay having a game in hand.
“The players have no pressure on them. There’s no nerves, we’ll just concentrate on one game at a time,” said Luchford.
“I think we just need to concentrate on Erith first, but we’re in a good position and there is still five games to go and anything can happen.”
The club received confirmation that Salters Lane has passed ground grading criteria for promotion into the Ryman League - and Luchford paid tribute for the efforts made.
“You’ve got to give credit to everyone behind the scenes at the club, from the chairman to everyone associated with the work,” said Luchford.
“We were given a list of things to do at the end of February/beginning of March and it’s plan for everyone to see how much and how well they’ve done.
“It would have been nice to get a win today for them. You don’t realise the amount of work that people do at clubs. It’s all very well being the manager and concentrating on the football, but the amount of stuff that goes on behind the scenes, it’s unbelievable and credit to them.
“But I’ve got a job to do and hopefully I can reward them at the end of the season.”
